Unfortunately, this luge experience pales in comparison to Rotorua and Queenstown. To be fair, it does not advertise itself as being comparable so that was just us being hopeful. We took a group of seven 11-year-olds for a birthday party. They enjoyed the luge and zip line. However, as the person responsible for the group the minimal health and safety had me on edge the whole time. The luge briefing was too brief, and on one luge descent our young girls got bumped and pushed nearly off the track. To be fair, the briefing didn't say you couldn't do this, nor did it tell our girls to go to the side to let others past. It was raining, the track was slippery, there was no cushioning on any of the corners - if you hit them it would hurt! An older kid broke his front teeth earlier the day we were there, so the risks were real. The good thing about the rain is that there were not many people there because there are not many luges, so a lot of time was spent waiting for them to be transported up the hill. A relatively short line for the zip line took longer than it should of - not enough staff and no sense of urgency. Did make me worry that the kids were even strapped in properly as the staff didn't really look like they wanted to be there and took no notice of the disclosure forms we completed. The bus up the hill worked well. The girls enjoyed it, I was an anxious wreck, so not sure we would go back.
